SAC Aerospace outside of Omaha. This year I want to venture outside of but not excluding macro and wildlife.
Picked a perfect spot- it was really what you call lowlight. There was lights...
Pretty new to picking (seeing) a subject..and still learning this sigma 18-35.
Pretty tough to get the GIANT planes in there without distracting wings..propellers..bodies in the BG.
So I concentrated on light and smaller subjects.
In any case...critique...tips are welcome.

G'day Marc

Yes matey - you have chosen some "somewhat difficult" subjects to shoot. But the darkness / somwehat lo-key mode of the images can be used to highlight the subject as well. I like #1 esp - I don't know what the ancillary bits are, but the vision of the pilot? is beaut

Thanks Phil. Mainly I went out to use the lens...learn what I can do with it..
When I first started wildlife..I had to learn quite a bit, even where to go..what subjects I'll prefer...and even when to go where I'll go.

I wouldn't mind doing things like shooting local bands..but as I don't drink and go out..I think I'll need to do some networking.
As well, landscapes..flat lands everywhere it will take some travel.

I do like the aspect of low light and even night shots. The contrast between the light and catching details in the darker areas have always been on my mind to catch.

Now.. just getting my ideas/wants/likes put into practice in some sort of "genre" that I'll find a liking to is the work ahead of me.

Cool shots Marc, #1 for me although I would be tempted to crop the material just above the pilots head as the highlights from the lights pull your eye to the top of the frame and away from the subject.
Had a play to show you what I mean.

It's great to have another set of eyes. Thanks Ryan, and I see what you mean. I don't usually do these types of takes and u promised myself I would do more...
With that, I do appreciate any tips, crits and advice..as I was having troubles "seeing" what's the take. There is opportunity there, I just need to see it in my minds eye alike what I do with wildlife..if that's any explaination but not as a compliment to myself.
This helps Ryan.
