This is a Pano stitch using 6 different images, taken on Saturday from the ridge near my house Looking west. To the left ( southwest ) is the Camron Peak wildfire that has had us on our toes for weeks now. To the right ( Northwest ) is the new wildfire that is fast-moving our way now. This has been one crazy wildfire season near us and we are still praying for some moisture.

CC and pointers are welcome.

I hope you do get some rain soon, Meg. In the meantime, I quite like the way this pano turned out.

I think it would be worth a closer shot of the tree, sort of the lone tree. I hope you get some rain soon.

Roger, thank you we really need the moisture but the forecast is not looking promising for it. I think the pano turned out ok but feel like its missing something or is a bit bland.

Mike, I have felt like it was ok about this pano I felt like it had potential, but could not quite put my finger on why it just felt like it was missing something or felt bland. Maybe the tree is the problem.

I’ve reflected on this photo for a few days. I see smoke encroaching on the parched land with a tree trying to survive it all. It may not survive. Is this what you were trying to capture?

The feeling that I failed to capture was a feeling that is hard for me to put into words. With these two fires one less than 10 miles from us and the other at the time about 30 miles from us that are fast-moving toward us at the whim of the wind. It's beautiful at times, Un-nerving and unknown. I feel the image has potential but falls very short of what I wanted.

I like the pano - it is the best way (for me) of showing vast expanse. Only thing I might do is to darken the sky on the far left where it is impinging into the sunlight - otherwise, a great attempt.

Can you throw in a few words - tags, if you like - as to what it was you wanted from the photograph?

I love the image - reminds me of Mid-West landscapes (I lived in Oklahoma for a bit). Thoughts are with you :) !
