I decided to try some focus suggestions I was given to help with getting better focus in my images and played with angles etc... last evening so lets here your advice and CC, please. This post-process is just a quickie I did as I always shoot in raw.
I did lots of images but this I think was the most on-point from my short little chicken shoot yesterday.

Thank you! I really struggle with my focus points but some of the tips for that I received in other threads seem to have really helped. Now to make it a habit. lol
The focus point in this seems spot on. Well done.

I see some halos at the border between the ground and the sky, perhaps are they due to background blurring in pp?

Yes, the haloing happened in my PP but it's not due to background blurring it was when I used the adjustment brush to help dring out the clouds in the sky a bit more. I plan to correct that.

I see some halos at the border between the ground and the sky, perhaps are they due to background blurring in pp?

Watch the halos. Other than that, you nailed the focus and the lower view point works really well here.
