We should be flying to Porto in Portugal tomorrow. But obviously we are not. As today was a nice day I tidied the garden shed and put brackets and hooks on the inside walls to hang all the garden implements on for easy access. Then I cleaned the patio.
I never thought I would be saying this. But I want the grass to grow. So I can try out my petrol lawnmower that I have got working.
I will one of the days be powerwashing the block paving at the front of the house. I need several bags of kiln dried sand first though.

Went out yesterday morning early for some necessary errands. I'd describe it as surreal, some things were as normal as could be like any other Monday morning, people moving taking care of business, then all of sudden it would be different. When we pulled up to bank, they were open but the lobby doors were locked. We had to call them and have them bring out the paperwork we needed to the car. Felt strange sitting there watching people on the street going about their business as if nothing wrong. As we drove by the big box stores the parking lots had about the normal amount of cars one would expect in them, we didn't go in.

I want out for a run yesterday. there were more people out then usual, but then it was nice weather. But I found many were giving no heed to the keeping a distance rule. I had to go way out of my way to avoid many.

I did find it quite fun to imagine that everyone was a flesh eating zombie, which helped with the keeping a distance thing on my part ;)

Now the initial surge of doing things is out of the way, I'm just sitting down with a brew, the doodle book and pencil, and working on a few sensors. One of the projects has been postponed to next year, but it threw up an interesting avenue on something for my own little madness, so that will keep me entertained for a few days. I've some other bits on as well, but I'm concentrating on bits what I can build out of the stuff I've got in stock as it'd be a bit daft putting in an order (not only for other folk's safety but also current lead/delivery times) for a hand full of resistors and nothing else.

...flesh eating zombie...
Talking of zombies, what with not having a too common name round these parts, I'm starting to get a bit tired of being asked if I'm off down the pub.

Buried my 10ft boa constrictor in the garden yesterday, had died from a snake ‘neurological illness’ as much as I can make out following googling of the symptoms. Had to lift up paving slabs to dig a hole deep enough (3 ft) to put it into to stop the local foxes resurrecting it (had this once with a rabbit). Downloaded Disney Plus yesterday - all the marvel and star wars movies in one place, ok if you are a sci-fi fan. Not normally at home with the wife during the week, will have use this as a trial run for retirement

And on the other side of it, all the divorce lawyers in the land are rubbing their hands in anticipation.

Under the new rules car tax no longer transfers to a new owner with the car.

I am well and truly stuck.

As I write this I’m in the Bahamas, an hour after we landed they closed the boarders, my wife and I took the sensible decision to go home as soon as possible, we rang British Airways and they told us all flights were full but our original flight back will still fly. 4 days later that flight gets cancelled.

America then closed its boarders so we can’t get a flight from Miami or any other state for that matter, another call to BA and they tell us we can get you on the Turks and Caicos flight, so we book it. 3 days later it’s cancelled.

In the mean time all the Americans have gone home so our hotel is closing, luckily we had booked a place in Stanial Cey so with no where else to go we take an internal flight to the island.

We are literally the only tourists on the island.

As of now we were booked to go back to Nassau tomorrow evening but that flight got cancelled, so we booked another flight out which goes tomorrow morning, we found an air b&b to say in for a day because we have found a BA flight out of Nassau to Canada the next day but we have to make our way to Toronto because BA aren’t flying there.

The problem we face is that you can transit through the airport but we are on 2 separate flights so we have to go through boarder control to get our bags which is not transiting.

Will they let us through, we don’t know or will they even stop us getting on the plane, again we just don’t know.

On the plus side we have made the most of our holiday and little or no Coronavirus here but we can’t afford to stay here as it cost a fortune but we might be stuck.

Try Air Canada, I just checked and there is apparently a flight tomorrow and Friday from Nassau to Toronto.

Two hours ago I got that phone call placing myself and assistant on the duty list. It's not that we've got a lot of cases, nor is it that the other team have got the snot, but my colleague forgot that his hand was part of his anatomy and not part of the ham he was carving at lunch time and ended up cutting the tendons in his left hand so he's out of it for at least 4 weeks, maybe more.

That Friday flight is the one we are booked on Don it’s just the getting on the plane and getting into Toronto could be the problem as we are uk passport holders.
You might have to make up the spare room.

Sorry, I misread that. I am not sure if they have quarantine areas at the airport or not. I am sure under normal circumstances that would be ok, since you can show you have a flight from Toronto to London. Now, it is hard to say.

Just been to the local Sainsbury’s, most people were well behaved. Unfortunately the odd a*hole was present and being abusive. On the way out Sainsbury’s had called the police to one person

My wife joined an online meeting with her company's HR department that had some health officials. They said to expect the reality to be of working from home for another 6 weeks at least.

Yesterday in my own working from home I found, and have noticed this before when working from home, I am just not as sharp. I was struggling with what was probably not as hard of problem as it really was. I also get anxious and frustrated waiting for people to answer me when I have asked questions to get some help.

We are about to set off for London to get some supplies at Costco. If the parking lot and line-ups look dicey, I'll turn around and head straight back home.

Same here, usually because of other people getting in the way as I'm used to working at home. With the other half's company being on shutdown, she's under the feet and as soon as things pop in to her head it has to be done regardless of what other things have a higher priority; I don't know what's worse, the sound of a washing machine spooling up at 07:30, or the sound of a food blender spooling up at 01:00, but that's the way it is at the moment.

Signs around Toronto about the parts being closed are so Canadian, they use a hockey stick as the example of how far to remain apart :)

I was amazed at Costco Warehouse yesterday. They had a forced queue outside with trolleys pre-sterilised and 6 foot forced spacing. Inside was the same, with forced queues for the cashiers and 6 foot spacing marked with tape on the floor. Those who violated the spacing had their trolley taken away and escorted out of the store.

Still no toilet paper though
Those requesting TP were handed one package each from a skid. However, that one package style available was a 30 roll pack. It's all they had in stock so we were happy to take the 30 rolls, or else leave it there.
