I took a photo that I've posted on various social media sites and put them into Google image search. Turns out that one of my photos has been used in a few advertisements. A radio station in Argentina used one for a little promo they did a few years back and the same photo is now a thumbnail for some EDM dj sets.

On a lesser scale, but no less important, when my images are used on Facebook or Instagram, I become really shirty (leave the r out) and the respondents usually delete the images from the post before the report I have sent in to have them deleted ...

Companies should, and do, know better. Have no embarrassment about sending invoices or messages - they're in the wrong.
