Kanchenjunga, third highest mountain in the world (28169 ft). This view (on a high ridge about 8300 ft) is singularly unique since it sweeps the entire eastern Himalayan range. On a clear day one can see the worlds highest peak Everest from here (175 km distant as a crow flies). Kanchenjunga is about 65 km distant. The sequence is from dawn to first light, covering about 15 minutes. It was pitch dark where I stood and pretty cold also.

Finally got to move around a bit after a long exile.

beautiful mountains. Very envious, would love to see them myself.
My step-dad went up (not summited) Everest in 1976

Bit of luck was on my side to get a clear view. Winter months tend to be less foggy and cloudy.

A nice set of photos, with #4 having the edge for me because of the light and colours

Thanks. The colors kept changing by the instant. As I said earlier the whole thing was very brief, all over in a matter of minutes.
