Photographer Vanessa Joy Has done a video comparing the Canon 50mm 1.2 vs 50mm 1.8 using the Canon EOS Rebel T7 and the Canon 1DXIII. The end result: can you tell the difference? The video is under 7 minutes.

But she used an L lens on both so in portraits there is hardly going to be much difference especially at that subject distance... So it would just be crop vs full frame really!

I thought the cheaper camera performed as well as the expensive one, and really could not see any significant differences in the lenses.

There’s plenty of these kind of comparisons knocking about. I only skipped through the video but looks like there’s no challenge to any camera here, would prefer to see tests with low light, large dynamic range etc.... conditions here would be about perfect for any camera giving decent results.

Yes, that would make a difference.

Fully agree. I think under "normal" conditions, a consumer camera (even a cell phone) will produce acceptable results.
