Would you actually believe me if I said yes? ;) No really this is just some PS magic. I took a shot of each cup with a droplet and then stacked the layers by hand as the auto process was giving really bad results.

Had me fooled for all of 10 sec there Ryan, nicely done though.

Cups.jpg

Great idea and well done. Fooled me too at first since it should be possible to have them all in one shot.
If this is a stacked image done in PS, then what is the area in the circle reflecting? It is not the cup behind the first one; I imagine. Too dense and more glass than plastic.
Can you clarify?

Thanks, as for what that reflection is I am not sure as I didn't really do much to that area of the shot.
Once I auto aligned the images I just went through the layers with the eraser tool over the parts of the upper images until all the drips were visible(leaving only the background layer untouched). The background layer in this was the furthest cup/ drip so that section of the image you circled hasn't been touched by me during the stacking process although I did adjust the black point to make the blacks a bit deeper than the original exposure. I do wonder if that is the edge of the lightboard I was using as a backdrop but I can't say I really noticed it until you pointed it out.

Thanks Stephen, without a trigger system I don't think it is possible/ plausible to get all of the drips synced like that by hand so I am not surprised you weren't fooled. :)
