My daughters got "gaming" computers for Christmas. We and their grandpa joined together on it. These are AMD Ryzen desktop machines but the one thing we did not get was new monitors, they currently have some older, square, 19 inch models they have been using as a second monitor for doing online school. So they wanted to spend their own money and get widescreen monitors.
After looking around and seeing a some on Costco for a good price in a "Costco pack" of two, I jokingly said how about I get two new ones and you take my two (I have a three monitor setup). They jumped on it. The pair at Costco are actually IPS panels, better for photography but slower response for gaming, and two of my monitors are TN panels, better for gaming. The girls realized right away this was a way to save money. Until we said they were paying for part of the new ones, anyway
So for $50 each they will get my monitor when the new ones arrive. It turns out the Costco models (HP) did not have VESA mounts on the back, oddly) so I found another model on sale for the same price that does. I have a 3 arm mount on my desk so I want to keep that.
I will have my Dell Ultrasharp and two Benq, all IPS and 24 Inches.
Side note, the girls also asked for good quality microphones. They plan to join along with many other gamers and live stream games. This is a thing, watching others play games.
